A Brief History of Universal Dynamics, Inc.

1957
The company now known as Universal Dynamics Corporation is established in the fall of 1957 in Rosslyn, Virginia to manufacture air drying equipment.

1959
The Rainville Company, which represents a number of equipment manufacturers, allows what is now Universal Dynamics to begin providing dry air for drying plastic material (nylon) on an experimental basis for Dupont.

1960
The company moves to Alexandria, Virginia and becomes a leading supplier of drying equipment to the plastics industry.

1965
Universal Dynamics, Inc. is sold to the Rainville Company.

1982
Having moved to Woodbridge, Virginia, the company decides to sell its New Jersey machinery operation along with the Rainville name and adopts the Universal Dynamics name. Its current business is in the manufacture of dryers, vacuum loaders, blenders, and complete material handling systems for the plastics industry.

1992
Universal Dynamics completes a major site expansion and begins development of gas fired heaters for existing dryers and crystallizers, plus a retrofit GasPack for existing installations.

1995
Universal Dynamics is purchased by the MANN+HUMMEL Group. MANN+HUMMEL primarily manufactures air and liquid filters for the automotive, machinery and engine drive business.

1996
Universal Dynamics becomes ISO 9001 Certified.

1999
Universal Dynamics, Inc. acquires the Autoload Company of Smithville, Missouri. The Autoload Company sells and develops compressed air material handling systems, serving primarily small-to-moderate throughput plastic processors.

2002
Universal Dynamics becomes ISO 9001:2000 Certified.

2008
Universal Dynamics is aquired by PIOVAN of Italy.
